www.hsx.com/Just wanted to tell people about this game at the above link. I am in no way affiliated with this site; just a fan. Its free and its not some email scam. Been around awhile and I've been playing for about 2 months and its something I check first thing in the morning. Here's the game: You sign up (for free) and they give you 2 Million Hollywood dollars. You then take that money and buy stocks in new Movies or actors. The stock rises or falls based on box office performance over a 4 week period( 8 weeks for films with a limited release). Build your portfolio and increase your rankings. Its that simple and a lot of fun. The most fun I have is trying to figure out the Puts. A Put is a derivative that says a stock will drop in price and you make money. I seem to be better at spotting turkeys than winners. You can also take derivatives on Opening weekends. This is a lot of fun. If your interested check out the site, read the rules and glossary and then I recommend buying small until you figure out how it all works. I haven't been playing long but if you have any questons you can post here or send me a message through this forum. There is also a League option if enough people get interested in the game. Enjoy.

The Hollywood Stock Exchange, or HSX, is a web-based, multiplayer game in which players use simulated money to buy and sell "shares" of actors, directors, upcoming films, and film-related options. The game uses Virtual Specialist technology invented by HSX co-founders and creators Max Keiser and Michael R. Burns, who were awarded a U.S. patent no. 5950176 in 1999 for the invention. Claims of this patent cover trading applications for trading virtual securities using virtual currencies over a network. The company moved into the former Ritts Furniture building designed by Harry Harrison on Santa Monica Boulevard. The Googie architecture style building has been renovated for its new use.
