The showing will most likely be sometime around 11 pm or later, depending on when the last showing of "The Killer Inside Me" is over. I'll let you know, and maybe we can meet at the theater. It'll be fun to meet up with a fellow forum member.

I'm a little late to this thread party here, but I did not like [REC] 2 very much. I saw it at TIFF and was thoroughly disappointed. Rather than repeat myself here, I'll just drop a link to my review for those who are interested. zedwordblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/rec-2-review.html

I have to admit being disappointed as well. Love the movie up to the third act, then the film started dropping characters, adding new dimensions and finally botched it up with an ending that turned a solid, entertaining flick into a 90 preview for the next installment. God, I hate when film makers won't give you an ending. See my full review at: shadowoverportland.blogspot.com/2010/07/rec2-seems-to-be-playing-hollywood-game.html

Funny. The only thing that really excited me about REC 2 WAS the ending.

Maybe it's just me, but I get tired of movies that leave plot lines hanging just to assure your butt will be in the cineplex for the next installment. Or maybe it's the fact that they've decided to do a prequel BEFORE ending the trilogy.
Either way, I just wish people would finish the movie, rather than try to hook me into having to see the next installment. At this point, I'd rather wait for the DVD release than give them my hard earned cash for a theatrical release.

At the time this came out, I assumed it'd be an attempt to cash-in on an unexpectedly successful low-budget flick; I was very wrong! The best thing about it is the way it doesn't re-hash the original's story, but takes it up and runs with it (bringing a much-needed fresh angle to the zombie movie in the process). In fact, I'd say that Rec and Rec2 are probably best watced back-to-back, making a single continuous narrative.
