Yep, wheel out the crap. I know you have covered some of these, but maybe a run down on what makes horror films fail (the opposite of your elements of a horror film). This could be a good one. I don't mean guilty pleasures, I mean an update on what is bad . . . . such as:
HOUSE OF THE DEAD WICKER MAN (REMAKE) DR. GIGGLES BLAIR WITCH 2 JAWS: THE REVENGE PROM NIGHT (remake) Black Christmas (remake) AVP MONSTER DOG NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES ICE CREAM MAN FEAR DOT COM

I agree. This is a great idea. If anything, it will answer the question I've had for years... Why are the AvP films hated SO much?

A list of the worst is likely to be just as subjective as a list of “the best” horror films but it’s a good idea for a topic. Not sure how you would define “bad” (poor script, shoddy acting, weak plot, crappy effects, lacking horror, boring, clichéd?) but I think most of us would agree that there is some really awful shit out there. For the record, I liked the AVPs - and Dr Giggles. With you on Blair Witch 2 though ;D.

A list of the worst is likely to be just as subjective as a list of “the best” horror films. Naaa I've never accepted the 'its subjective' argument. Bollocks is it. That's just something people say to justify liking crap. Nothing needs to be subjective, parameters can be agreed on what makes something good or bad. People don't dislike genuinely brilliant films or love utter shit ones because of some ethereal concept of subjection... No sir, they do it because they're thicker than I am. Probably the best way to get round the problem is for everyone in the world to run their oppinion past me first and then I'll tell them what the correct answer is.

Hey I liked blair witch 2, fear dot com, and House of the dead. Blair withc is a particular favorite of mine because of the dual disc dvd. One side was the movie and special features, including a live performance by GODHEAD and the other side was the musical score. House of the dead kept me on the edge of my seat when the people kept shooting the zombies and one of the ladies looks at the captain and tells him to kill them and then he says "what do you think I'm trying to do?!?!" Fear Dot Com had some good kills. Oh and I liked AVP because of the kills and the alien predator backstory. Just my opinion though.

I quite like this idea, especially with the recent Hall of Fame. In particular, I'd like an exploration of what is the difference between a fun bad movie and one that is unwatchably bad. What separates hammy horror acting that is good (a la Bruce Campbell) from acting that is just embarrassing (say, The Happening or The Island of Dr. Moreau)? Perhaps you all could induct certain films and performances into the Bad Horror Hall of Fame.

The problem with deciding what is the worst horror film is that for every crappy direct to video monstrosity you've seen there are a hundred you haven't. And until you've watched some of the movies that Youtube officially releases for free you don't really have any context as to how bad horror movies can get (For the record though, "Death of a Ghost Hunter" is still pretty good)

House of the Dead one of the worst horror films ever? Damn, that sucker is some classic cheese and more fun than a lot of pretentious horror films trying to deliver at any level, yet falling flat on their arthouse faces (Murder Party, I'm talking about you!).
And therein lies the problem with the idea of this episode. While I'll never argue that House of the Dead is a good movie, it's still a shit ton of fun on a rainy Northwest afternoon with a couple pints of good beer. To each horror fan, one's crap is another's fun time. It would be a monumental task to find a few films worthy of most horror fans distain.
Of course, this might work if followed up by a listener feedback episode where we rally against Ted, Tony and Doug's choices and offer up a few of our own. That could be a lot of fun.
