From io9... Ricardo de Montreuil's snazzy short The Raven cost a mere $5K and was shot over a single weekend. Now Universal wants a Raven feature film, and Mark Wahlberg is potentially on-board to produce and star as the telekinetic hero. When we last saw The Raven this April, it was making the rounds on the internet and winning the Peruvian-born de Montreuil oodles of plaudits. Since then, the short — which showcases a young man (The Raven) on the run from a draconian LAPD's drones — has gained the attention of Universal. According to the Latino Review, Universal is talking with Mark Wahlberg to star in and produce the film. De Montreuil would also direct, and Justin Marks, the screenwriter behind Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li , is reportedly on script-writing duties. Here's the description of The Raven from the filmmakers: Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life in this sci-fi thriller set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles.io9.com/5590074/5000-dystopian-short-film-the-raven-to-be-full-length-could-possibly-star-mark-walhberg
