Please, for the sake of an old man's failing eyesight. Purple on black is too painful. Oh, by the way, hello everyone. I'll mostly be posting stupid stuff again.

Yes, this text color is much easier on the eyes.

Is the lighter shade of blue better or lighter still? It needs to have more contrast.

Is the lighter shade of blue better or lighter still? For me, the blue text could do with being a touch lighter. And the purple lines are pretty but hard on the eye. Maybe a lighter shade for that too. What colour were they before?? How soon we forget I’m getting a feeling of déjà vu here. I grumbled when a new colour scheme was floated a while back. Having a horror themed forum is great, and as horror fans we all love our deep reds and purples, but you need to balance a fun look against the boring practicality of being able to view it easily.

The blue of the links are a bit on the too dark side (opposed to the regular dark side of Darth Vader? ) And I also agree with Stuart on the purple lines. I'm not sure what it is, but they seem to jump off the page or something. Maybe they are too bright in contrast to the flatter background colors (the black and maroon).

The new colour scheme is better, thanks. The red (crimson?) lines are much easier on the ol’ peepers . One small thing – the crimson(?) highlight when you scroll over a link to a thread kind of obscures the purple text beneath. Not a big deal though. I'll stop whinging now.

Off-topic: Whenever I see this thread I think of an early '90s commercial where a guy is eating a Popsicle and his whole world goes crazy with color the more he eats it, and everything's going color haywire with orange and purple and red and so forth, and he looks at his dog and shouts gleefully, "The colors! The colors!" And then his dog looks up at him and says, "I'm colorblind, kid." And the guy just freezes in astonishment.
But, that has nothing to do with anything.
EDIT: HOLY SHIT I just found the commercial in question. I haven't seen this in years! I remembered the dog being a bulldog...
Hee hee. "The colors, Horroretc! The colors!" Hee hee hee. "The colors, admin! The colors!" Hee hee. I'm basically going to never stop saying that now. Regardless of context. It's going to be my new catchphrase.
So if I go missing you'll all know why.

Yeah - no worries -- my eyesight isn't what it used to be, either.... all those years of watching horror movies!
