I think a Child's Play franchise retrospective would be the best thing ever.

I think a Child's Play franchise retrospective would be the best thing ever. Really? Child's Play? I don't mean to come off like a hater, but do we really need a whole episode on Chucky? I'm pretty sure he got a healthy mention during the Ventriloquist Dummy episode, though.

Peeksydad,
While I respect your Borgnine avatar (kickass), do not underestimate the importance of Chucky.
Yes, I'm biased, as the original Child's Play was THE definitive moment in my childhood horror development, but the series itself is also pretty interesting. Part 2 takes a decidedly mean turn, 3 is kind of humdrum, but then Bride and Seed take the franchise into a whole different direction that's actually quite interesting. I still argue Seed of Chucky is an incredibly underrated film. There's a John Waters cameo for goodness sake!

I actually own a copy of Seed of Chucky (I bought it second hand), which is amusing, but I feel if a film is deliberately going for camp value (the John Waters cameo) it fails to be true camp. As far as the rest of the series goes, I completely respect your nostalgic affection as I have many guilty pleasures (well, not really "guilty") thst stem from childhood memories. However, I was about eighteen when Child's Play came out and I perceived it as "horror light" at the time, much like the PG-13 flicks today. I just can't imagine spending an entire program discussing the franchise, but you never know. There are only so many topics out there.

why not do both? I didn't think we needed an m night shamalan retro. So these two franchises would be great one episode retro's. I like both franchises and would keep those retrospectives on my ipod.
