I don't know if this was asked on the previous forum, but if so then I'm asking again.
N.B. By franchise I mean a series of more than three films, hence no Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Scream etc.

I'll go with good ol' Jason, his ma, and that other dude. F13 has been my favorite since childhood.

I cast my vote for Friday the Thirteenth as well. Almost all the other films have superior original installments, but if we're talking franchise gotta go with Jason and Ma Voorhees. Honorable mention to the Dead series on the weight of NOtLD, Dawn, and Day, but I find myself popping an F13 entry into the DVD player most frequently.

Nightmare on Elm Street is my personal favorite of the series mentioned, and easily gets my vote. Honorable Mentions for me go to F13 and Halloween.

Have to go with Jason. A pretty long run with a few stinkers, but entertaining overall.

I voted Phantasm mainly because the quality doesn't change too much from one film to the next, I find them all pretty watchable. Still, original Exorcist is better than most of the films mentioned, and so are some of the Dead films. I don't know. NOES was enjoyable but it's just not a favorite of mine. Hellraiser had some crappy sequels too.

Universal's Frankenstein, Bride of . . . , Son of . . ., Meets the . . . You know what? I thought of that one, too. I based my vote on the choices that were listed, but I'm with you there. ;D

I did think of the classic horror franchises and nearly added them, but then there would have been too many for a decent poll.
Plus, there could always be a future poll concerning the classic horror franchises, in particular the Universal monster films.

I've just made a poll for the classic franchises, so that should satisfy any die-hard classics lovers whom I neglected to appease.

Hi, my name is Sherri, and I'm too much of a wussy to watch Freddy. Pshew, I feel better now. HOWEVER, I have seen all of the ORIGINAL Halloween movies, (not the RZ crap) and my man Mike is da bomb. He just won't stay down. I'd love to see him vs. Freddy, because Michael has no mind to f**k with. His every move, his every motivation is simply to kill.

If you can watch the Halloween films, I don't see any reason why you can't watch Freddy, especially the sequels.

How do they not count as franchises, especially given the various spinoffs that Evil Dead has received, and the planned Scream trilogy? I didn't actually mean franchise, per se, but rather a series of films greater in number than three. And as Scream didin't and still doesn't-as yet-have more than three films, I didn't include them. And...the more options added, the more spread out the choices and the less interesting the results, as there is a less clear show of the general opinion. Plus, it means you, me or someone else can create another poll concerning horror trilogies. I did think the options and reasons through before posting.

I did think the options and reasons through before posting. I'd say they are still reasonable, considering your established parameters.
