I loved the finale. It was just a nice kick in the teeth, plus it was chock full of humor in the mayhem.

Side note: I wish they had of ended it when everyone was celebrating. It would have left it so ambiguous. The whole wrap up 20 minutes was unnecessary for me personally. This reminds me of a very interesting analysis of the film I read a number of weeks back. In short, the "old gods" or whatever they were called actually represented us, the horror audience. The point was that if the established horror tropes were not presented by filmmakers (as represented by the control room staff) in the manner expected, the old gods (again, "us") would destroy the world (i.e. destroy the film's box office through bad word of mouth, etc). Since CitW seems to be a pretty clever deconstruction of horror films in general, it seems to be a theory with some merit. Thoughts? - Tim
