One of the things I love about Horroretc, and that I feel contributes considerably to its breezy informality, is the hosts' willingness to enjoy a drink or two on air. I myself enjoy drinking along at home, and Friday night wouldn't be Friday night without the Horroretc podcast and a glass of something pleasant.
Here's my suggestion: in the spirit of more is more, why not push the envelope here, and imbibe. I'm always surprised by the insights that come my way when I watch films whilst completely paggered, and maybe we could get some really original readings from an under-the-influence boadcast. Just a thought.
Alternatively, maybe a forum member could suggest a Horroretc drinking game; at what key words should we, the listening community, all agree to take a drink? And what would be the consequences of such a resolution?

So I have to admit to crossing the proverbial line many times along the way and do feel a bit self conscious about veering off the road while podcasting. The first several dozen times we recorded, I know I really should not have been recording (kudos to Tony for putting up with it).
There have been 3 occasions in my mind where booze really caused a problem:
- Freddy's Dead / The Happening. Just the blasted audio quality alone was a sign that the proper care and attention was not being taken, let alone the content.
- Peter Jackson...and drinking. That was a really fun night but the resulting podcast was crippled.
- Night of the Living Dead commentary. Doug and I both topped up and in hindsight I pity poor Tony for having to tolerate us.
(oh and the final segment of the Lost finale night episode finds Doug in his happy place).
Sipping drinks while podcasting is so ingrained in the process now that I don't really think about it, but I do hope that it doesn't come off as obnoxious (as that sort of thing sometimes can).

Im drinking on a Tuesday night and listening to this weeks show... dont judge me Ive the week off so why not though, it seems to me you are a bit of a worrier about these things Ted. I personnally have never had any problem with anythings you've said or done.. apart from obviously disagreeing with the odd opinion or the acceptable sound problems on a rare occasion (these things happen) Just keep doing what you are doing and Im a happy guy

.. apart from obviously disagreeing with the odd opinion WHAAAAAAAT! seriously though, if we all had the same opinion on everything, it would be a pretty boring world (and even more boring podcast).

Personally, the podcast doesn't start for me until I hear that pull-tab or twist off!
