If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal... you become something else entirely. A legend! The conclusion to Christopher Nolan's epic Batman trilogy has arrived and with it an urgent need to gather together the horroretc crew to discuss it. The arrival of Batman Begins introduced a dark and mature approach to the superhero film grounded in reality and hailed as a triumphant return of the caped crusader on film following the disasterous downward plummet of the 90's series. It was followed by The Dark Knight, a crowning achievement and held by many as the peak of what the genre can aspire to, a complex and engaging crime thriller filled with excellent performances, which happened to feature characters dressed up in costumes. And now, The Dark Knight Rises. The episode is comprised of two separate recordings discussing in detail our reactions to the film with distinct spoiler sections identified as follows: 1 - 38:23 through 56:40 2 - 1:39:06 through 2:02:48 So we changed up the pace a little this week with plenty of Batman talk, but each segment also features our take on The Amazing Spiderman and thoughts on the Man of Steel teaser. There's a storm coming and we're bringing it straight to your ears. As always we welcome your comments: horroretc@gmail.com Voicemail (206) 337-5324

Hey Ted, I wont see it till Saturday, should I just hold off listening or is the first half hour safe enough? The spoiler sections are marked out and we do give out a warning during the segments. If you want to see it completely cold (example: if you don't know or want to know how many years past TDK this one picks up), maybe just hold off.

Son of mine (aged 13) saw this yesterday; he's a big fan of the Dark Knight/Arkham Asylum incarnations of Batman in comic book form, and he came home well pleased with it. Interestingly enough, his ranking for the Nolan movies was Dark Knight, followed by Rises, followed by Begins as well.

Love that the first fight between Batman & Bane had no score! Just hearing all those punches landing and how labored Bruce Wayne is was straight out of 'Raging Bull' Would've preferred the ending Doug mentioned (the 'Inception' ending if you will) with Alfred just nodding towards the camera without seeing Bruce Wayne. Did anyone else out there catch a certain Detective Joey Quinn as the Cop who blows the bridge to stop John Blake?

Just had to say that the ending of this episode was brilliant. Doug's completely understandable frustration with a certain horror franchise brought a smile to my face:
"I just (sigh)..." ...cut to credits...

By the way.... COORS LITE, guys? Really!?!?!? Certainly a film as anticipated as TDKR deserves a brew that isn't carbonated water with beer flavoring.

Need to make a correction here...'guy s" would be inaccurate. I will not suffer such accusations. I may stoop to budget beer occasionally but flavour is a quality that cannot be ignored.

My mistake. I heard the sound of beer opening and someone mentioned "the beer that shall not be named."
Upon hearing it mentioned, the blasphemous name echoed through my mind, rendering me mad for a brief time, mercifully blacking out anyone describing how good it...
...it...
Even now, the madness attempts to return, trying to render me unable to say someone might have found it flavorful.
Oh god, I said it. May the darkness blot out this memory forev...

Okay, I'm back. The madness is gone for now. I just dare not read what I last posted, or the blackness might never let go this time. ;D
So, you're passing the blame to Tony?
