This week we get caught up on some random stuff we've been watching in the past few weeks in advance of some upcoming franchise retrospectives and of course our annual convention excursion to Fan Expo. It's an eclectic mix of topics and titles including The Raid: Redemption, The Black Hole, The Aawakening, The Rite, Creature (1985), Some Guy Who Kills People, Hercules and the Haunted World, Hell, The Collapsed, The Punisher (2004) and many more. We've got Mario Bava, Klaus Kinski, Tucker and Dale, Dr Who, Hopkins and Hercules. There is astonishment that a remake of Who Can Kill a Child is nearly upon us, matched only by the disappointment in the remake versions of the action star (Colin Farrel vs Arnold Schwarzenegger). So grab yourself a slice of hot dog and bacon pizza and join us as we bounce around the map covering everything from a period piece ghost story to getting punched in the throat. As always we welcome your comments: horroretc@gmail.com Voicemail (206) 337-5324

re: Total Recall. For the record, the source material does go to Mars.

First *spoiler warning* for Total Recall (in general)...
I'm not being dickish, at least I hope not, but the original story didn't go to Mars? I admit I haven't read it but I thought the Mars element was all just memory implant stuff. That makes it even more curious as to why they don't take things to Mars in the remake.
I think I need to get to reading some of the PKD material to get a sense of just how altered it became in the various film adaptations.

Ted, I may just have the fix for you in case you don't really have the time (or perhaps the great interest) to read the original P.K.D. work... screenrant.com/total-recall-2012-vs-1990/

I remember seeing the Saturday morning special Anthony was talking about. I just remember a red room with no windows (maybe no doors) and some candles or something. I think some kids go into a building and get trapped, but I'm not sure. I mostly just remember it scared me shitless when I was a kid lol.

The Road meets 28 Days Later meets Frontier(s). Not ground breaking but I enjoyed it.

Just noticed that it's being advertised as available through Zune on my Xbox; I'll have to give it a watch.
