I just watched this movie tonight and it's really intense. Has anyone seen this one? I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It's kind of like the ultimate art-house torture porn lol.

I don't know what I think of it either. All I know is that Lars Von Trier wrote the script while he was bedridden with clinical depression and it really shows. Not because it's depressing, but because it's really nihilistic and showcases the exaggerated worst of humanity, and that's what happens when you have the kind of neuro-chemical imbalance that won't allow you to get out of bed.
If you want to see some really good/fun horror, try to find the original "Kingdom/Rigethospitalet" TV show from Denmark that Von Trier directed. It got canceled on a cliff hanger a la Twin Peaks, unfortunately, but it's still a good time.

Just finished it and I didn't like it. Not due to the extremity, I just thought it was boring aside from 1 good jump scare. I thought it looked beautiful though.

I saw the first ten to twenty minutes of this and turned it off. It all seemed too pretentious and silly to me. Serious art house crap. I might give it another go, though.

I don't know if I could ever call a movie with that kind of shit in it "pretentious." lol

It was the slow motion camera, the black and white, the music, the closeups of the husband and wife fucking in the shower that felt pretentious to me. I think that there were flower petals flying through the air at one point? Not sure on that one. Anyway, After fifteen minutes of that I turned it off.

I can kind of see what you're saying b/c if the entire content of the movie was like that it would seem like just another boring art film.

It changes into one of the most graphic torture-porns I have ever seen.
I guess I just don't know what makes a movie pretentious: super slow mo, symbolism, slow pace, dialogue? I don't know. I know some film-makers want to convey a sense of intellect that is condescending, but I really don't think anti-christ is that film.
Out of the whole film I think the first scene is the weakest b/c they make the child so ultra cute with his super cutesy stuffed bear. I thought all that was completely unesessary. You don't need to beat the audience over the head with that to convey a sense of tragedy, especially in a movie this personal and vague when it comes to absolutely everything else.
Other then that I'd say it's a good movie. The first half is slow, and the second half is super violent and intense. Considering how exploitative it was, I kind of hate to admit it, but I think I really enjoyed this movie.

Sounds like it might be an interesting ride, which is something I keep reading.
A pretentious movie is hard to describe, imo. For me, it's a feeling I get while watching something that seems to take itself way too seriously by using the techniques you mentioned, among others. Sometimes it works, other times it does not. When I turned on Antichrist for the first and, so far, only time I saw major potential of pretentious b.s. and just wasn't in the mood for it.
I keep meaning to go back to it. I might this weekend, just to see what that second half is all about. All the talk of Antichrist, here and in some other forums I'm a member of, has captured my curiosity.

I saw this and thought it was a big let down. A series of jumbled images trying to be deep and meaningful that were really just a load of crap. Well filmed is all I can say about it. It was like the remake of Solaris in my opinion; all style and looked great, total failure in connecting or conveying anything on an emotional or thematic level, or even a basic story level.

Just the idea of getting smashed in the balls like that with a log will stay with me forever. The blood ejaculation wasn't much after that.
