I was trying to come up with female slasher killers. The only two I can think of are Mrs Voorhees and Angela from Sleepaway Camp. Are there any others I'm missing?
The reason for this is that I'm getting ready to do National Novel Writing Month in a few weeks and my novel idea is for a trilogy of slasher movie type stories. I want to make the stories increasingly weird until the last one is in space or something. My wife challenged me to make the slasher female which sounded interesting. The only problem is that I'm not sure what would make one really different or special. I was hoping there were some movies I could look at for inspiration.

There are, of course, the rape revenge killers such as in "Ms .45", "Thriller: a Cruel Picture" and "I Spit on Your Grave". "Singapore Sling" <- awesome! greatest film ever! Sherry Zombie, "May" and "The Loved Ones" Jack Ketchum heroines. Gialli are a source (both ways - sometimes women, but, of course, oftentimes a man in disguise). "High Tension", "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane", "Audition", "Dream Home" Countless coven heads and ghosts. (Of course, many of these films are probably not 'slashers' per se.) One difficulty with a list like this is a number of titles would be massive spoilers! Spoiled films: "Deep Red" "Happy Birthday to Me" some of the "Scream" films what about "Triangle"? (again, not a slasher) Oh, and does Granny Ruth not help Basket Case?

Nice, I forgot all about May. That's exactly what I'm looking for. High Tension is sort of like the first Friday where you don't know who the killer really is until the end. Forgot about that one, though.
I've been meaning to check out Teeth for years and haven't gotten around to it. This should make for a good excuse. I'll look into some of the others too.
I've only seen the third Basket Case. I remember a female character (some kind of monster thing) but not much of what she does outside of having a bunch of babies.
Rape/revenge isn't what I'm going for with this story. I really don't think I could ever sit through I Spit on Your Grave again. Technically I watched most of it on fast forward the first time. I just don't like that sub genre.
