For some reason(actually since listening to the make-up episode and watching Scream Greats 1: Tom Savini on youtube), lately I've been interested in learning about creating special effects. I've searched youtube for DIY stuff and have found myself enjoying learning about everything from gunshot effects to latex and creature modelling. I even picked up a copy of "Secrets of Hollywood Special Effects" by Robert E. McCarthy.
I really like the DIY and indie film approach I've seen on youtube and was wondering if anyone else has found and online resources for this information. I'm not exactly an aspiring film maker or anything, but I'm really getting into learning how to do these things cheaply and effectively.
There are tons out there. Some good, some not so much. Anyone else have any websites or videos that do a good job showing how to make FX easily and inexpensively?
Thanks in advace.
