The original is my personal favorite. The reason for that is definitely nostalgic, as it was the first of the series that I saw. It's a much more serious movie than parts two and three. More of a straight horror movie, like Ted, Tony, and Doug said on the Raimi retro episodes.
I highly recommend it.
This new trailer really does look like a return to the original. If there's any comedy in it, they certainly don't show it. LOL Looks sick, though. I can't wait to see this in the theater!

The original was crying out for a modern makeover and this looks like it fits the bill; gory and creepy as all hell. Here’s hoping …

There's no Ash. Without the Ash, how am I supposed to care about these people?

How could they replace Ash? I'd rather they do it this way then cast someone else to try and ham it up.

I don't mind that they replaced Ash, they seem to be going straight horror, no slapstick. And technically they didn't replace Ash, the lead girl's name is Mia. Leaves it open for an Ash to come along, right?. It's weird cause Ashley is a girl's name, I would have found it funny if they kept the name. Also, if you take the first letter from the names of all the characters in the remake it spells out a word. What could it be? Lol.

I hope horror fans go to the movies to see this and other R-rated horror films. It is the only thing that matters. The studios could care less that Twilight is a shit film. The Twilight fans come in droves and sometimes horror fans do not and then complain that they only get watered down PG-13 fare.

The second movie is one of my all-time favorites, but I've never been a huge fan of the first. It's the slapstick element that I love. So if this is in the spirit of the first, as it seems to be, I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it. But of course I'm gonna go see it anyway. And I admit, the knife-licking bit is totally cool.

I've been going to see horror movies all year because I that's what I want to see, and going to see it at the theater is one way of showing studios that you're interested.
