Watched the Mark Gatiss programme about the history of European horror last night on BBC4. A worthwhile introduction to the topic. He covered off a lot of good stuff; the first Euro horrors in Germany, through the French 50s revival and the Italian and Spanish classics of the 60s and 70s. Lots of interviews with directors such as Argento and Del Toro, and he visited the locations of several key movies.
However, he skipped over Fulci and made just a passing reference to Paul Naschy, both of which deserved more screen time. An interesting watch nonetheless and he did well to cram so much into ninety minutes.
