Okay, here we go. Slightly inebriated after a long day, so bare with me. After getting smothered in snow in Reno today, I still made my way down to the theatre to see Hitchcock, which took two weeks for my town to get. For those wanting to see an in depth Psycho behind the scenes movie, this is not for you. It's more of a relationship movie and the Psycho itself is more of a footnote. Probably not surprise to some but a pretty big disappointment to me as I'm a big fan of the entire franchise. Great ensemble of actors and actress'es here, but as well as Hopkins does here, I can't help but see Hopkins just aping Hitchcock. Knowing a great deal of Psycho behind the scenes trivia, it was a bit unusual to see there presentation of Alred's interest in the original Ed Gein case. In my opintin, liberties were taken, but such is the movie business. Wish I would have enjoyed it more personally, but stiill a quality flick that I would recommend if you are a Hitchcock fan.
