:'(Re. Hemlock Grove - Anyone seen this Netflix / Eli Roth sponsored series yet?..would be interested in others opinion as I've just ploughed through all 13 episodes this weekend. After the first 4 extremely plodding episodes, this did start to pick up and altho some of the dialogue is truly dreadful, this may have promise if developed further. There's certainly lot of gore in places and the werewolf transformation is quite impressive (altho the end result / payoff is more 'nice poochy' rather than Wolfman) but I'm wondering whether most people will have the patience to sit through the potboiler stuff to get to it.

I watched the first episode. I won't be going back to watch more. Terrible script and performances.

Wouldn't the slow rate of change from a man to a wolf be a evolutionary disadvantage? I've always wondered that while watching werewolf movies. Especially the first Howling, why stand there anf watch the entire four minute process while the werewolf is writhing around on the ground in pain? Pump his ass full of lead then, don't wait til he is a snarling werewolf!!
Just thinking out loud.

Is this on Canadian Netflix? I'll have to look for it to see for myself.

OK, found it on Netflix. Not as bad as you might think; I'm enjoying the "soap opera" aspect of the series, but understand why it might not appeal to a lot of folks. I guess I'm enjoying the "Twin Peaks" vibe it's giving off.
I haven't had any real problems with it yet, it's certainly a lot better than most of the dreck in this genre, though it does have some uneven spots in the writing and acting areas...but not enough to turn me off entirely. I'll at least finish out all the eps in the season (I just finished #4).

This actually gets brought up later on in "Hemlock Grove", when a monster hunter mentions that you always wait until the werewolf starts its transformation before you strike.
