Great post! The skeleton soldiers at the end of Jason & the Argonauts are one of those Movie moments that I saw as a kid and remembered the image, even though for some years I forgot the rest of the movie, or its name, and just remembered the image. A lot of his bits of the films he was involved in would fit into the horror genre. The films may be fantasy, but what is his version of Medusa if not the very definition of horror.

Every overgrown kid in Hollywood, from Spielberg to Jackson to Raimi, retained enough of the wisdom of childhood to revere that man, and we are better for it.
