Welcome to a classic From The Hip format show, its been a hectic few weeks with a lot to get caught up on. We begin with Tony sharing an update on the progress of his latest film project and explanation of our comings and goings which has caused the delay in getting a new episode up. Our wandering watch list conversation began with thoughts on Iron Man 3. A spectacle following in the massive wake of The Avengers really deserves some attention (and Ted tries hard to keep the nitpicks in check). Spoiler talk for IM3 from 11:42 to 14:25 Things progress with Maniac (2013) which was a pleasant surprise that rose above a filmmaking technique that could have been rejected as gimmick. We get pretty grim talking about some truly disturbing real life horror and its fictionalized account - Philosophy of a Knife (2008) which recreates the atrocities committed by Unit 731 over its 4 hour (!) running time. To try conveying the nature of this real life nightmare from the darkest corners of world war 2, we discuss the documentary Unit 731 - Nightmare in Manchuria. A difficult subject but must be seen. We bounce around a couple of small indie releases as well including It's In The Blood (2012), an odd creature feature (minus the creatures) starring Lance Henriksen, and Mulberry Street (2006) which takes the core premise of a 28 Days Later style infection horror but delivers blood-thirsty rat-people instead of zombies... oh yes, rat-people. All this and a re-watch of Signs (2002) too. We announce our first premium episode at the end of the show: please check it out at www.horroretc.bandcamp.comWe have always tried to offer something in exchange for those who support the show and our concept was for this special release to be in keeping with that philosophy. As always we welcome your comments: horroretc@gmail.com Voicemail (206) 337-5324

Love the idea of the premium episodes, it's great to be able to give back to you guys for the hours of entertainment I get from the podcasts!

The other "roll your eyes" moment from Signs in when Mel Gibson's character needs a flashback of his wife telling him to "swing away" when an alien is attacking his son. Apparently if it wasn't for this flashback, he would have just stood there holding a bat and do nothing, pretty ludicrous.

I'm glad about the Premium Episode. Normally, I don't have the donation gene in my DNA, but this is different. I can buy a product from a show that I love! Now, if there were tshirts or something, that would be awesome. Or how about Horroretc temporary tattoos! That would be bad ass.

I've had no trouble with the Premium Epsiode. I downloaded through Bandcamp, then moved the file into my iPod's playlist. I love the idea of donating for premium episodes. After (almost) three hundred episodes of quality podcasting a few quid, or bucks, is a small price to pay.

Cant wait to hear Teds thoughts on under the dome.. Out of all Kings books it probably has one of the characters I hated the most. I was reading it at the same time as my cousin and we both hated him with such a passion.. I'll be interested to see how it plays in the tv show. Be warned it has the typical King ending, which is a pity, the rest was so strong. Also. I'll definitely be donating.. As Berserker said Im not normally a donating type but you guys are worth it

I've been travelling for work the past few weeks and forgot Under the Dome at home - blast. Now I'm in this weird place where I don't know whether to hold up watching the tv series until after reading it or vice versa.

I would advise reading it first, theres no way the series can match the book (can it?) Im not sure you would get into the characters the same way after seeing the show either.
