The "Animal Horror" subgenre has always been one of my favorites, and we've had lots of variety in that field.
As a rule, what kind of animal do you prefer in your films, be they normal, or mutant?
I think I nailed all the major categories (those with more than 2 or 3 films to their credit) but there's lots for the "other" category, from rabbits to sheep to shrews to slugs.
Please note the poll is mean to be limited to recognizable present-day animal types of normal or giant size. Therefore, the following should be off limits:
Hybrids (The Fly, Mimic, Island of Dr. Moreau). Supernatural Animals (werewolves, dragons) Prehistoric Animals (dinos, sabertooths) Alien Animals
Now you could ask why the giant animals are allowed - its simply because they represent a huge chunk of the genre, and most of these films blur the line with some supersized (but not unbelievable) beasts. Rather than try to draw an arbitrary line, I figured I would include them all.

Rogue, Alligator, and Lake Placid are all pretty high in my book. Jaws is my favorite animal horror movie, but the other shark flicks don't pull their weight in my opinion.
Frogs is another favorite of mine, as well as Food of the Gods (both of which cover numerous animal categories).

I can't tell you how disappointed I am that "rabbits" is not an option.

Tough decision. Each group has a few gems, some okay films and some real stinkers.
Had to go with sharks, as those creatures seem to be in the majority within my DVD collection.
