Thank you both for posting those articles!! As I read them both, with a tear of joy in the eye, a couple of reservations came to mind. Will the dog and cat killing virus enter into the story? It would seem to be necessary for that event to happen, which would lead to the slavery of the apes. How can you have a satisfying ape revolt without ape slavery? It seems they're going to forego the events of Escape, the trip into the past made by Cornelius and Zira, that seems a bit of a shame. I must admit, the proposed events of Caesar do nicely explain the fast evolution of the apes and the physical changes, and I love all the little nods to the original. Assign Rick Baker on makeup, and I'm sold!!

There are two schools of thoughts on the "Escape" events.
One school holds that POTA is in a causal loop - Cornelius and Zera come back in time, triggering the events that will lead, eventually, to Beneath the POTA.
The second holds that the events of Escape alter the timeline, and the ending to Battle forshadows a better future for humans and apes than the one Moses landed in.
I tend to buy into the second, despite the poetic appeal of the first. Why? Well, Caesar stays in hiding for a long time. As of the time of Escape, chimps are still chimps, but by the time Caesar comes out of hiding in Conquest, the apes have adopted their more familiar, hominid look (larger body, more human proportions and gait). It is likely that Cornelius and Zira had a minimal influence on the timeline up to that point. But Caesar - THIS Caesar- may start the ape revolution sooner than before, and being the son of Cornelius, takes it in a direction that is less brutal than the original Caesar did.
