On number five, Ash is not living. The chamber where John Hurt gets his face-hugger contains several alien eggs with face-huggers inside, which would inflate the number. I confess to forgetting about the cat.
Also, I don't recall ever seeing Trancers. I may have seen it, but probably not.
I know that I'm in a very definate minority when I say that I detest Hellraiser. The best thing about it was the ads at the end of the VHS release that shilled Hellraiser lunchboxes and the Hellraiser Thermos. I kid you not. The only thing I could think of on that question was the Rubik's Cube. ;D
I also don't remember seeing Bad Dreams. I probably gave that one a miss too.
Who is Ed Justin?

Maybes he's just sentient and not alive technically. I thought about the room full of face huggers however, I allowed myself an out by saying you only see one facehugger and a lot of eggs. Hellraiser lunchbox? That is bizarre. More bizarre than the Robocop and Rambo cartoons during the 80's. I have no idea who Ed Justin is but if you want to read the poem, go to Pumpkinheads IMDB page and look in the FAQ for the poem.

Heh. I got a paltry 9 points. Didn't even get the Alien question right.
In my defense, though, American horror films of the '70s and '80s are not my strong suit.
Oh, and Captain Midnight, while I don't "detest" Hellraiser, I'm not really a big fan of it either. Clive Barker has a unique and bizarre mind on paper, so the relative conventionality of the film was a bit of a disappointment for me.

Great quiz, many thanks bishop. My score was 13...12 if you don't include my little tiny moan. Salam's Lot was never made as a movie, but a mini series. It was later released on VHS in a re-edit cut that they renamed Salam's Lot : The Movie. I recall that VHS release was way after Cujo release in 83. I know, how anal can you get. Anyways,i got a tad confused by this little factoid.

I see everyone's point about Ash.
The correct answer to question five is 3 or 4 depending on your view of the nature of androids.
I thought someone might point to the Spacejocky which is why I threw in the word "living".
I based the Salems Lot/Cujo question off of IMDB and I was unaware of the odd manner in which Salems Lot was released.
Thanks to Marwood for that.
