The new Propagandhi album is just killer. These Canadian bangers are back with a perfect blend of punk and metal.
Check out this song off the record. It's called Cognitive Suicide.

I haven't been listening to music much, lately. When I do, it's usually Neurosis or ISIS.

I've been listening to a lot of Oomph! (german metal) and Abney Park (steampunk) lately.

Converge, Nile, Pig Destroyer, Dead Mau5... That's about it. I wish I had more money to spend on music =/

You can never go wrong with Converge.
Dads, an emo band from New Jersey, played here in Toronto last night. I was so happy to get to see them haha

Baroness "Yellow/Green" has been in steady rotation since it came out.
I'm excited about the new Isis Remixes too.

I just saw Isis has some b-sides or something coming out...wish those dudes would get back together! Isis is one of the best bands I've ever seen.

Ya know I checked out Isis a few years ago and liked them but I never really listened to them past that haha. Any specific recommendations?

I'm pretty biased toward this kind of music but I really do think other than Converge, and maybe Bane, Isis is probably the greatest band of my generation (being 32 myself).
I'd rank their albums like this
Oceanic 10/10 Wavering Radiant 10/10 Panopticon 9/10 Celestial 9/10 In The Absence of Truth 8/10 Mosquito Control 7/10 The Red Sea- haven't heard it
b-sides that I have heard at least:
Sgnl-05- 7/10 Oceanic remixes: 7/10 In the Fish tank 6/10

Awesome, thanks for the list! It's pretty rad that you're into Converge and Bane, too.

Isis is a favorite of mine, as well. Their soundscapes bleed vision and emotion into your brain. Awesome stuff. My favorites are Panopticon, Absence of Truth, and Wavering Radiant.
I don't think I've heard of Mosquito Control.

Hey no problem! I think you can listen to entire the entire albums on youtube. I really love that kind of music... I guess I started listening to Zao and Sick of it All, etc in highschool and everything was downhill from there on out

Hahaha, quite a difference between those two.
Yeah I started listening to the likes of Minor Threat and Black Flag around 8th, 9th grade and just kept on truckin.

This weekend I stumbled across thing on Vimeo from last year (John Carpenter: The Sound of Fear) that was an interview with John Carpenter about his music, and it was a bummer. He just shut the young guy down (and took a dump on him), a guy who came there to praise him, and get insight on his musical craft. I did learn about Cannibal Ox, Emeralds (who've played with Alan Howarth) and One ohtrix Point Never.
