Please present boarding passes and kindly head toward our 'private' screeners to be sure all orifices are free of dangerous or contraband materials - Air Horroretc is about to take flight on a trip around the globe to chat Foreign Horror. Now we know that classifying all filmmaking outside our native Canada as 'foreign' is a bit facetious and might be construed as a little disrespectful. We were simply looking for an excuse to talk about a variety of horror films from around the world. That said, we didn't cover even close to the terrain we had hoped so expect another trip again very soon. As it is we did manage to land at the following destinations: The Loved Ones (2009 – Australia) Rec 2 (2009 – Spain) The Resident (2011 – UK) Eyes Without A Face (1960 – France) Shock Labyrinth 3D (2009 – Japan) Nekromantik (1987 – Germany) Cropsey (2009 – USA) The Troll Hunter (2010 – Norway) Seeing the world is nice but it’s always nicer to be back home. In our closing segment we give some thoughts on a couple of recent releases: Anthony Hopkins’ go at exorcism The Rite and the new Brad Anderson film Vanishing on 7th Street. Thanks for travelling Air Horroretc and we hope your trip was a pleasant one. As always we welcome your comments: horroretc@gmail.comVoicemail (206) 337-5324

Hey guys, Just to let you know, I downloaded the episode from the website today and it cut after about 10 minutes. I also couldn't complete the download on iTunes. I think there may be a problem with the episode (or perhaps it's just me). Love the show - keep up the good work! Bryanide

Not checked this episode yet but I've been having that problem for a few recent episodes. Download is v slow and cuts out. It'll work eventually if you keep an eye on the download and restart it every so often (there's dedication for you).

Cheers for that info Stuart (seems to be working fine now). Sorry about the false alarm earlier!

It downloaded fine for me from ITunes last night. But I've had a similar problem before.

Welcome to iTunes.
If no other downloads have done this (or randomly unsubscribed), consider yourself very lucky!

I wound up watching "Cropsey" as a result of this podcast and it certainly ranks as one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen. The Willowbrook footage is gut-wrenching and the Andre Rand perp-walk is just strait-up bizarre. While admittedly, Tony & Ted's description of these scenes is what hooked me, the film really works on a lot of different levels; an expose on the Rand case itself, an exploration of local folklore, a look at the treatment of the mentally disabled etc... It reminded me a bit of the "Paradise Lost" docs but, unlike with the West Memphis Three, there's no sense of injustice to get behind as there's so little evidence to go on. Highly recommended if documentaries are your thing...

I listened to the podcast while at work today. Ted's description of the new Brad Anderson film sounds eerily like the Doctor Who Season 4 two-parter Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead where if you get into the shadows, invisible pirahna creatures will eat you, leaving only your clothes in a fallen pile. Unless you're in a space suit, then you're just a skeleton following people around.

Just got to listening to the podcast today. As always it was a great listen and I'm pretty excited to check out The Troll Hunter when the opportunity comes up. One question I had is whether or not some wires got crossed between the plotlines of Rec and Quarantine. I seem to remember the possession storyline being part of the original Spanish film. I'm pretty sure this is the case since I never saw Quarantine, although I have read enough about it that I might be the one remembering it all wrong. Any one else remember anything about this? Either way, Rec 2 is a must-see for me. Thanks Tony and Ted!
