Going to Ireland and calling people Irish is not an issue. Going to the country above it called Northern Ireland and calling 99.999% of people Irish is not a problem. Going to Northern Ireland and calling the wrong person Irish or British could get you in trouble. That is the point that was being made to you.

Northern Ireland is a great country full of really nice people and if you visit the republic of Ireland I would suggest travelling over the border to Northern ireland as there are loads of things to see. If you are only going to go to one go to the Republic of Ireland, there is a lot more to see and do. The only downside to down south is it is more expensive (please correct me if I am wrong anyone from down south, last time I was there it cost me 5 euro for a sandwich). I lived there for a year (before it got a lot more expensive due to the Euro) and you could go into Dublin any night of the week and there were a million things happening which you cannot say about Belfast. Also and this is the more important point an Irish Girl has such an amazing accent, when I was living there I was in heaven (well maybe not the Ballymun accents)

This is my last word on Prometheus - I dug out my Penguin Dictionary which has this as a definition of the word Prequel
"Prequel noun A book, film etc that portrays the events that lead up to those described in an already existing work"
If you feel that this is the case for Prometheus it is a prequel, personally I do not as i cannot find this link outside of it is set in the same universe.
Ted to answer your question "Who the fuck cares to be perfectly honest", I don't but if you are going to come on a forum (even if it is your own) and ask someone a question i.e. "In what way is this not a prequel (at least as I interpret the term)." do you not expect an answer??? I was brought up to believe if someone asks you a question you answer it.

I haven't seen Prometheus but I can see where junkyard is coming from with regard to the definition of a prequel. Just because a story is set in the same universe does not inherently make it a prequel or a sequel--it has to be continuing (or prefiguring) the story told in the previous entry. For example, much of Kevin Smith's work is set in the same universe and features overlapping characters and events, but Chasing Amy is hardly a sequel to Clerks. Cujo is not related to It even though they both take place in Stephen King's fictionalized version of Maine.
I would also like to continue the appreciation for Johnone's contributions. When Ted announced that the last half hour or so would be devoted entirely to voicemails, I was prepared to listen for five minutes and then abandon ship, but I found myself happily tuning in to the very end. Salient points all, and well articulated. Johnone is definitely interesting enough to host his own podcast.

Yikes!! This Irish/British thing took a bit of a turn while I was away. I understand your point Junkyard but no point gettin wound up or annoyed because people dont know.. or wana know for that matter. Maybe its the time of year I know aswell as you how serious things can be in this place.. I also dont want to spend my time on here talking about it but I think a little discussion to clue in Ted and whoever else wants to know is fine.

glad to hear your good. Aye, heard Belfast was bad wasnt sure if you lived near there so that why I asked I guess. idiots round here dont even need an excuse these days.. controled explosion on a van at police station and bus hijacked up the road from me.. they then drove it into middle of estate, phoned round the neighbours told them to move cars and burnt bus. Stupidity at its best

About 6 miles outside Belfast (Rathcoole). We used to have a lot of problems but not over the last decade or so. Sorry to hear that, it is all so stupid, I understand that people have extreme differences in views about here but surely Sinn Fein have shown you get more peacefully through political dialogue that violence. Hopefully it will calm down now in your area, I bet at the minute if someone mentioned the peace process you would reply "what peace process". I also get your point "dont even need an excuse", a lot of people riot here not due to political views but because it is "fun" to riot, I have met enough of them over the years.
