I wouldn't worry too much. Pretty much everybody who has been on the internet complaining about Prometheus will be at the theater to watch the sequel

Even though I didn't think the theatrical version was that good - I'm still going to pick up the DVD - for the deleted scenes (and hopefully a 'directors cut').

And you'll probably get it too...Ridley loves to release director's cuts (Alien, Blade Runner, Kingdom of Heaven, and I'm sure I've forgotten some). I too am VERY curious to see what tidbits were trimmed out. - Tim

There is a list up on bloodydisgusting about all the special features for the blu-ray, and there are a ton.
I read something like there are over 20 minutes that could be added into a different cut of the film. Hopefully it makes the film more cohesive.

20 minutes can't completely fix stupid, but perhaps it can shed light on what wasn't answered. I'll wait to hear reviews before I consider picking it up though.

Might get it from the library, but I'm not wasting any more money on that film.

Hey, at least I'm willing to try it again. My opinion of the film might not change, but I know a lot of movies have been butchered by the studios demanding cuts, so I'm willing to find out for myself if that was the case with Prometheus.
And I'm glad you liked Prometheus, rotteninbirth. But if you start a thread asking people to give a second chance to a film they don't like, you have to be prepared for some people not to be willing to do so and expressing their opinions for not watching it again.
Obviously, I'm willing to give it a try. I just have conditions.
Oh, and my name is on the reserve list with the local library. It might take a while, as the library has to process the DVD (add stickers and security tags) once they get it, but I'll watch it.

I still haven't seen it, yet. I will eventually, but I'm not in a rush.

Rotteninbirth, chill out. Seriously. It's a movie. Some people will love it, others only like it, others don't care, but that doesn't make our opinions and feelings any less valid. Will the world end because some people don't care for it? No, so give it a rest.

I know it doesn't feel great to have people shit on a movie you love, b/c it kind of feels like they are shitting on you to. But they really aren't so it's not worth getting that bent out of shape about.
If you listen to the podcast episode on bloodygoodhorror.com on Prometheus you might find some friendly opinions on the movie. I think most of those guys enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll get to do a top 5 horror films of 2012 write up for the site, and if I do Prometheus is far and away my #1 genre film of the year (so far at least).

Please its a good movie and if u go into it without giving into the hype u will like it! pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!! do it for your old pal Rotten! My question for you, Rotten, is why? It was awful, just awful. I will probably pick it up on Blu Ray at some point because I am a sucker for anything alien, but then I will only be reminded at what a tremendously huge missed opportunity Prometheus was. I still can't shake the fact that they all the pieces in place to set up the crashed ship from the first Alien and they chose not to. The issue is that now at some point they will have to take 20 minutes of screen time to reset everything up.
