I agree, Deadpit is pretty awesome. Horroretc is my absolute favorite, mostly because of how serious and knowledgeable the trio are. I don't mean that Horroretc doesn't have some humor because it does but Deadpit is great as well because they're pretty damn funny. They're like the healthy balance that a lot of other horror podcasts just simply are not. They have their share of shit talking some films, but they're not as condescending as a lot of shows. Plus, they get a lot of good interviews. I just listened to an old episode the other night where they talked to Carpenter over the phone and it was pretty good.
Now I was wondering, does anyone know of any horror podcasts where the focus is mainly on older classic horror films from the 60s and earlier? The black and white horror episode Horroretc did was superb and made me want more episodes dealing with old horror.

Without Your Head Horror Radio! woohoo! They always manage to grab a star from an indie film or major film. For example they had the actor who played the dr in human centipede and the actor who played leatherface in Leatherface: texas chainsaw massacre 3. That was an awesome interview because he went into depth about his acting and I got to ask a question. woohoo. And if your luckyyou can also call in and ask questions. Check them out,

Hey folks, I am the co-host of a fledgling podcast called The Askancity Podcast. It's not specifically horror or movie based...it's more of a grab bag about whatever catches out interest that particular week. However, that being said, I don't think an episode has gone by where we haven't talked about movies at least a little bit. Give it a shot, and see if you like it! Trying out a few different horror Podcasts this week. tried a deadpit radio episode about friday the 13th which was quite good.
also seen a few which mentioned the ward, so having seen it recently thought Id listen in on a few different opinions on it.
FEARSHOP.COM HORROR PODCAST... and I quote
"I did this for you and all you Carpenter fans out there, I talked to my boy Rob Zombie, hes gona show him how to make a fucking movie.. he showed him how to do it with Halloween, how to do it right..." and continued on with this for a while... whether this was just to get a reaction or he was serious I dont know but its put me off listening again anyway.
I quite like Zombie as it goes.

Mondo Movie is very slickly produced by genuine film buffs, though only comes out infrequently now.
I have listened to the B-Movie Cast, which is sometimes good, but has a strangely rambling structure. It's as though it's being recorded in an old people's home just after matron has handed the nighttime meds out.
For fans of Hammer, the Hammer-dedicated 1951 Down Place is a good listen.
British Invaders is an Anglo-Canadian podcast devoted to British Sci-Fi television, but it casts its net very widely, frequently straying into supernatural territory.
The H P Podcraft is intelligent and very engaging discussion of Lovecraft's works.
A Podcast To The Curious is the best podcast dedicated to the works of M R James. Okay, it's the only podcast dedicated to the works of M R James, but it is really good. The discussion is genuinely erudite, but it wears its learning lightly and has a good sense of humour.
And The Horror! is dedicated to re-running classic radio horror stories, and is well worth a listen.

Chinstroker vs punter is pretty good, one of my favourites infact. I will always listen to the start of it, what thayve watched if I havent seen the movie the episode is based on and go back later. and if I remember right theres a little crossover, one of the guys from that podcast is a fan of horroretc and has left voice mail back in cvp earlier days.

I am a big fan of CvP. Been a listener of theirs the whole way and think they offer up some of the more insightful commentary out there. It was CvP that introduced me to Harry Brown, where we in turn raved about it on our podcast.

When it comes to horror, I really only listen to Horror Etc. and Drunken Zombie. I'm actually looking for a great ghost story podcast - I currently listen to Anything Ghost, but even when adding in the back catalog, I'd love to hear more ghost stories. Does anyone have any good recommendations?
